“Techno-Functional” Delivery Manager – Investment Banking

Job Category: Business Analyst
Job Type: 3 Days at Client Location
Job Location: London

Boundaryless is a boutique consulting firm, providing clients with deep expertise in advanced  analytics & data forensics, agentic automation, and Artificial Intelligence solutions.

We operate around the world, with offices in seven countries: United Kingdom, France, The  Netherlands, Switzerland, India, Sri Lanka, and the USA.

Due to growing demand from financial services organisations for transformation, data, regulatory,  and technology-led change, we are expanding our team and are looking for experienced  professionals who can operate confidently across Business, Data, and Technology within complex  investment banking environments.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Techno-Functional Delivery Manager to support a major  transformation programme for a top-tier investment banking client in London.

This is not a traditional Project Manager or PMO role. We are looking for someone with a strong  Business Analysis background who has progressed into broader delivery ownership and can operate  confidently across Business, Data and Technology.

The role requires a combination of:

  • Strong Business Analysis capability
  • Investment banking and financial products knowledge
  • Data and reporting understanding
  • Technology awareness
  • Delivery management
  • Senior stakeholder management

You should be comfortable moving between detailed analysis and delivery leadership depending on  what the programme requires.

Role Description

  • The Techno-Functional Delivery Manager will support a transformation program for a top tier investment banking client.
  • This is a delivery-focused role requiring a strong Business Analysis background combined  with end-to-end ownership of complex business and technology deliverables. • Act as a trusted techno-functional partner to the business, with the ability to understand  requirements, banking products, reporting processes, data dependencies, and technology  impacts.
  • Take ownership of deliverables from discovery and analysis through implementation,  ensuring business outcomes, stakeholder alignment, and execution discipline. • Lead workshops to understand business requirements, reporting logic, data elements,  business rules, scope, edge cases, and operating model impacts.
  • Review and challenge requirements rather than simply documenting them, asking the right  questions to identify gaps, assumptions, dependencies, and risks.
  • Understand how business requirements map to underlying products, transactions, data  elements, systems, controls, and reporting outputs.
  • Translate business needs into clear delivery artefacts including user stories, process maps,  BRDs/FRDs, data flows, acceptance criteria, source-to-target mappings, and test cases. • Act as the bridge between Business, Data, Technology, Operations, Risk, Finance, and  Compliance teams.
  • Drive assigned deliverables proactively, identifying what needs to be done and coordinating  the relevant stakeholders rather than waiting for tasks to be assigned.
  • Plan and track delivery milestones, RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), and  progress reporting for internal and client governance forums.
  • Own requirements traceability from business requirement through solution delivery, testing,  sign-off, and implementation.
  • Coordinate UAT planning and execution; support defect triage, go-live readiness, and post release stabilization.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying gaps, resolving blockers, and improving  delivery ways-of-working.

Location

  • The role supports one of our top-tier banking clients in London (Canary Wharf) and requires  a minimum of three days on-site presence.
  • This is a permanent position based in the UK. We will only consider applicants who are  eligible to work in the UK. For this role we do NOT offer visa sponsorship.

Core Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience within banking or financial services, with strong hands-on  experience as a Business Analyst, Senior Business Analyst, Techno-Functional Analyst,  Functional Consultant, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of investment banking and capital markets, including key banking  products, terminology, transactions, positions, legal entities, counterparties, books,  portfolios, and front-to-back processes.
  • Proven experience performing detailed business and functional analysis and translating  complex business needs into actionable delivery requirements.
  • Experience working with business or regulatory reports and understanding the underlying  data elements, calculations, business rules, and dependencies that contribute to those  reports.
  • Ability to analyse complex requirements, identify gaps and inconsistencies, and challenge  stakeholders constructively when further clarification is required.
  • Strong techno-functional capability with the ability to connect business requirements with  data, systems, integrations, and technology delivery.
  • Proven experience owning deliverables end-to-end rather than operating only as a  requirements analyst or project coordinator.
  • Strong delivery management capability: planning, tracking, reporting, prioritization, and  driving outcomes across multiple workstreams.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Business, Technology, Data,  Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Finance.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, regulated environments with structured governance,  control, and audit expectations.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate as a reliable point of  contact for senior business and technology stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong documentation  standards.
  • Self-driven and proactive, with the ability to identify what needs to be done, connect the  dots, and drive delivery without requiring detailed direction.

Delivery & Methodology

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models. • Strong knowledge of typical BA and delivery artefacts including process flows, data flows,  user stories, business and functional requirements, source-to-target mappings,  requirements traceability, decision logs, RAID logs, test packs, and go-live checklists. • Experience managing delivery across the full lifecycle: discovery, analysis, requirements,  design, build, testing, UAT, implementation, and stabilization.
  • Experience coordinating UAT end-to-end including test approach, test cases, execution  support, defect triage, and sign-off.
  • Ability to manage multiple dependencies and stakeholders across Business, Data, and  Technology teams.
  • Strong understanding of governance, escalation, risk management, and delivery reporting  within large banking programs.

Investment Banking & Data Experience

  • Strong understanding of investment banking and capital markets terminology and business  processes.
  • Experience working with financial, risk, capital, management, or regulatory reporting is  highly desirable.
  • Ability to understand how individual data elements and business rules contribute to  downstream reports and business outcomes.
  • Exposure to data-driven programs such as data transformation, reporting, controls, data  quality, reconciliation, or data lineage.
  • Ability to work with data teams and understand concepts such as source-to-target mapping,  data lineage, reconciliation checks, transformation logic, and reporting dependencies. • Ability to investigate whether an issue originates from business logic, source data,  transformation logic, system processing, or downstream reporting.
  • Basic SQL literacy, including the ability to query or validate data and understand query  outputs, is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Experience supporting operational, capital, risk, finance, or regulatory reporting processes is  beneficial.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Conduct discovery workshops to define scope, stakeholders, business outcomes, reporting  requirements, business rules, data requirements, and edge cases.
  • Review existing requirements and challenge gaps, assumptions, inconsistencies, and unclear  business logic.
  • Understand the underlying investment banking products, transactions, data elements,  systems, and controls relevant to each deliverable.
  • Analyse reports and reporting requirements to understand how underlying data and  business rules contribute to the final output.
  • Produce key artefacts including process maps, data flows, business and functional  requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, source-to-target mappings, decision tables,  and test cases.
  • Translate business requirements into clear and actionable requirements for Technology and  Data teams.
  • Work with technical teams to ensure proposed solutions meet the original business  requirement and expected outcome.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of assigned deliverables and proactively drive them from  analysis through implementation.
  • Manage the delivery plan and backlog; drive prioritization and ensure alignment with  business goals.
  • Track and manage RAID; identify blockers early, escalate where required, and coordinate  resolution across teams.
  • Facilitate governance routines including stand-ups, working groups, stakeholder check-ins,  and steering updates.
  • Lead UAT preparation and execution; coordinate defect triage and help determine whether  issues are related to requirements, data, business logic, or technology.
  • Support implementation planning, cutover readiness, and post-go-live stabilization. • Maintain traceability from requirements → solution → delivery → testing → sign-off →  evidence.
  • Act as the key connection point between Business, Data, and Technology teams and ensure  that dependencies are understood and actively managed.
  • Take accountability for delivery outcomes rather than waiting for the business or program  leadership to assign individual tasks.
